  • lunch should consist of 120 grams of vegetable puree and 50 grams of meat puree;
  • a complete dinner for a baby consists of 60 grams of fruit puree and 140 milliliters of milk porridge or cottage cheese;
  • the second dinner consists entirely of the mixture, in the amount necessary for the baby.

At the same time, the menu of a 7-month-old baby with artificial feeding differs in that after each complementary feeding in the form of puree, porridge or cottage cheese, it must be supplemented with breast milk. The difference is that a breastfeeding baby should receive the maximum amount of nutrients from mother's milk, since it is the most nutritious.

Porridge recipes for babies from 6 months to 1 year

1. Buckwheat porridge. ⭐ Buckwheat porridge can be prepared for a baby from six months old

Products for buckwheat porridge:

Preparing buckwheat porridge:

5. Cottage cheese for children from 5 months to 1 year ⭐

Required: 200-300 g of baby kefir.

Method of preparation: pour kefir (it is very thick), into an enamel mug and, stirring, heat over the fire. At a temperature of 70 ° C, you need to heat for about 30 minutes until white flakes form. After this, pour the kefir from the mug into a strainer lined with two layers of boiled gauze to drain the liquid. Like other types of complementary foods, cottage cheese is introduced into the baby’s diet gradually, starting from 2-3 g. Within 5 days, the amount of cottage cheese is increased to 10 g, then the volume of cottage cheese is increased to 30-40 g, and by the end of the year it is brought to 50-60 g. A child under 1 year old can only be given baby cottage cheese. Cottage cheese should be given mashed with milk, kefir, and vegetable puree.

It is necessary to use only fresh cottage cheese in a child’s diet, or even better - freshly prepared cottage cheese.

For older children (starting from 7 months), you can make pudding from cottage cheese.

Required: 2 tbsp. l. millet, 1 cup boiling water, 1/2 cup hot milk, 1 tsp. granulated sugar, 1/2 tsp. butter.

Method of preparation: rinse the millet in several waters, rubbing the grain in your hands until the water is clear. Pour boiling water over the cereal one last time, drain the water, add boiling water again and cook for 30-40 minutes until the cereal becomes soft. Rub the finished cereal through a sieve, dilute it gradually so that there are no lumps with hot milk, put it back on the fire and simmer for another 5 minutes until the porridge thickens. Add butter to the prepared porridge.

9. Thick milk buckwheat, rice or oatmeal porridge with additives ⭐

Required: 2 tbsp. l. buckwheat, rice or oatmeal, 1 glass of boiled water, 50 g of hot milk, 1/2 tsp. cream or baby cottage cheese.

Method of preparation: Soak the sorted and washed cereals in water in the evening. In the morning, cook, stirring, for 40-60 minutes until fully cooked. Rub the cooked hot cereal through a sieve with two layers of gauze. Then add milk, beat and boil. When the porridge has cooled a little, add cream or cottage cheese.

If a child receives 2 types of porridge during the day, butter is added to one of them, and cottage cheese to the other.

Starting from 8 months of age, children do not need to rub porridge through a sieve.

As complementary foods, you can use ready-made dry porridges for baby food (dry milk porridges from rice, buckwheat, oatmeal and semolina, produced domestically and abroad). Preference should be given to porridges with vegetable oil, vitamins, and iron salts.

Meat broth

To prepare meat broth, you can use only lean meat and offal. Meat – lean beef or veal, homemade chicken; offal – beef or pork liver, tongue. The meat must first be cleaned of veins, fatty streaks and film. Meat and bone broth is strictly contraindicated!

Wash the meat (50 g), cut into small pieces or grind in a meat grinder with a coarse grid. Place in a saucepan with cold water and slowly bring to a boil, managing to remove the protein foam. Cook over low heat for 2 hours. An hour before the meat is ready, enrich the broth with a quarter of an onion and carrots. Before turning off, add a pinch of parsley or leaf celery into the broth. We don't use salt.

We filter the finished broth through double-layer gauze (this allows you to degrease the broth) and use it as complementary food or cook vegetable soup or stew with it.

Meat puree

From the meat remaining after preparing the broth, we prepare meat puree. Grind the boiled meat in a meat grinder at least twice, and preferably 3-4 times. We dilute the crushed mass with broth or milk from a dry formula or even breast milk. Add a little (0.5 tsp) butter to the meat mixture and beat well. We do not add salt.

The main thing to remember is that everything is purely individual. Just because your friend's child eats one thing doesn't mean your child should eat the same thing. The main rule is to adhere to the diet, some deviations are possible, because a child is a person, he may also have his own needs, he may have no appetite, you do not have to follow all the laws and rules, like in the army. But it’s also wrong to treat your baby’s nutrition with chaotic indifference. If you feel that something is wrong, it is better to contact your pediatrician.

Here are some basic recommendations:

  • at this age, start introducing complementary foods, diversify the menu of a 7-month-old child with new foods;
  • add solid food, cut into small cubes, to the diet so that the child learns to chew and gets used to “adult” foods;
  • give preference to steaming, stewing or boiling, but do not fry;
  • 1 baby meal should weigh approximately 200 grams, excluding drinks, and there are 5 meals in total, so it turns out that the baby will eat approximately 1000 grams of food per day;
  • do not force your baby to eat, if he doesn’t want to eat now, he will want to in a couple of hours;
  • analyze which products your child does not like and he refuses them, find alternative options with which this product can be replaced;

  • When introducing a new dish into your child’s diet, add only one new product to it.
