For every mother, the issue of choosing transport for her child is relevant. While he is very small, a transformable stroller or car seat is used. A growing child can be transferred to a kangaroo. The baby is growing, his weight and activity are increasing, and the time comes to choose something light and functional. Today we’ll talk about when to transfer a child to a stroller.
Main advantages
First of all, it is light and comfortable. Therefore, mothers are looking forward to the moment when they can start using it. But you need to know when to transfer your child to a stroller. If he is still too small, then it will be inconvenient for him and may even harm him. Age restrictions must be observed. It’s better to take two strollers of different ages “from hand”, cheaper. After all, well-chosen transport is the key to the comfort and health of the child.
Operating principle and design of a stroller
Whatever model the stroller is, it must have:
1. Light and durable metal frame – preferably foldable;
2. Wheels – 3, 4, 6 or even 8;
3. Seat and back with soft upholstery;
4. Seat belts;
5. Protective hood from sun, rain and wind.
The design must also include other equally important elements. These are swivel front wheels for improved maneuverability, mandatory brakes and a limit bar directly in front of the child.
A basket, bag or large pocket for children's things, as well as a small table with a recess for a bottle or sippy cup, would not be out of place. In an extended configuration, the stroller can have a rain cover, a mosquito net and a light blanket for the legs.
Differences
Before answering the question of when to transfer a child to a stroller, you need to understand how it differs from its “relatives”. Unlike a cradle or a transformer, it is designed specifically for comfortable walks. The baby can sit in it and look at the world around him. This answers the question of when to transfer your child to a stroller. Not earlier than 6 months, because until that time his spine is not yet ready for such a load, and the child can only be positioned reclining.
The second important feature is light weight. This is extremely important if mom lives on the top floor of a high-rise building without an elevator. Sometimes you have to go outside with your child several times a day. It is extremely difficult to carry and lift a heavy transformer even just once. Of course, in this case, one can only dream of the time when it becomes possible to transfer the child to a stroller.
Why is it so important that a stroller is of high quality and comfortable?
Yes, we parents always want the best for our heir. This is a basic instinct inherent in us by nature. And speaking of a high-quality and comfortable stroller, we assume that walks in it will be a joy for both the baby and the mother. And what is especially important is that they will not harm the child. Therefore, it is so important to take the choice of a “walk” responsibly and carefully consider all proposals. For example, the yoya 175 baby stroller combines most of the qualities necessary for a child and his mother.
Intermediate stage
Don't forget that each person grows and develops individually. Therefore, we can only give a general recommendation, and then look at your child. The most important criterion for when you can transfer your child to a stroller is his ability to sit independently. For one it will be 4 - 5 months, for another 6 - 7. There is no need to rush things. If for now he sits only with support on a pillow and does not keep his back straight, then you need to buy something else for him.
Today, parents have a huge choice of means of transportation. A great help is the transformer into which the cradle is inserted, as well as a special block designed just for this period. Although even here, disputes cannot be ruled out when to transfer the child to the stroller. But on average, this is for those who no longer want to lie down, but it’s too early to sit.
Doctors' opinion
As usual, experts are somewhat conservative and suggest parents wait and allow the spine to fully form. Increased loads on it can lead to disc deformation, and this is a problem for life.
That is why the famous pediatrician Komarovsky recommends waiting at least 5-6 months. Every mother decides when to transfer her child to a stroller, but if he is still only making active attempts to sit up, then you need to wait another 1 - 2 months. As for the walking block, it is also good in its time, as it greatly limits freedom of movement. If it no longer matches the child’s body size, then it’s time to replace it with a full-fledged stroller.
Why are strollers bad?
They are not dangerous if used in accordance with age requirements. Otherwise, the following characteristics must be taken into account:
- Curved back and uneven bottom. For children in the first months of life, being in this position is unacceptable.
- No depreciation. Lightweight strollers with small wheels are not stable and shake a lot while riding. The baby may not like it and even harm it.
- Lack of protection. Most models do not have sides or hoods that protect from the wind.
What parameters to pay attention to when choosing
Transport will be required to move the baby until he is approximately 2-3 years old. Therefore, you need to take your choice seriously. The following can be considered important criteria when choosing:
- Folding mechanism. The first option is “book”, the second is “cane”. Each of them has advantages and disadvantages. “Canes” are less stable, but very light. “Books” are more stable, but heavier.
- Back position. For a baby from 6 months, choose a model that can be folded into a horizontal position. Even better if smooth adjustment is provided.
- Depreciation. It is provided by wheels. Large and wide ones will smooth out all the unevenness of the road and the child will not shake on bumps.
- Pen. It is very convenient if she can change position. This will protect the child from gusts of wind.
- The wide visor is another important detail. It will protect from the summer sun.
- The cover is used in autumn and winter to protect against cold and wind.
- Belts are required for children under 2 years of age. They will prevent the child from falling while moving.
How to choose the right option?
To make your baby comfortable in a stroller, it is important to choose the right model. The important criteria are the following:
- Folding mechanism. The first option is a “book” (when folded, the model resembles a book). The second option is a cane (when folded, the handles move closer to each other and connect, so the design resembles a long cane). Cane strollers are less stable, but light in weight. “Books” are much more reliable, but heavier.
- Information provided by the manufacturer. The manufacturing company is obliged to provide information about the product: operating features, age restrictions, precautions.
- Back positions. For a 6-8 month old baby, choose a model that offers a horizontal lying position so that the baby can rest or sleep. The stroller can have from two to four positions, and smooth adjustment is possible.
- Depreciation is provided by wheels. If they are elastic and large, then the baby will not shake even while driving on uneven roads. And small plastic wheels will not provide adequate shock absorption, so this option is not suitable for children.
- Pen. The ability to move it will allow you to change the position of the child: he will be able to look forward or see his mother.
- For summer, it is worth choosing a stroller with a wide canopy that covers the seat in order to protect the baby from the rays of the scorching sun in hot weather.
- A cover is a necessary accessory to protect from the cold in the cool season, and the tighter it is, the better.
- Restraints and straps will prevent your child from falling if he accidentally moves forward or loses his balance.
- Color and pattern are less important, but a bright stroller will be interesting for the baby, because he will be able to look at the patterns. It is better to avoid bright and saturated shades; they negatively affect the nervous system.
How to use
When deciding what time to transfer your child to a stroller, you need to take into account the seasonal factor. If he turns 6 months old in the spring, then you can think about a lightweight “cane” stroller. And if this age occurs at the beginning of winter, then it is better to take a comfortable and stable transformer model.
First, the child needs to be allowed to get acquainted with transport. It’s good if the stroller is in the apartment so that he can sit in it in a calm environment. Place your six-month-old baby lying down and let him examine the entire space from the inside. By 8 months, the optimal position will be “reclining” or sitting for a short time. And by the age of one year, you can safely take long walks with the child in a sitting position. They will give a lot for the development of the baby and will bring pleasure to the parents.
When and how to use a stroller?
The stroller is designed for walks that will be comfortable for a small child if it is warm outside. Therefore, the optimal time to start operation would be summer or late spring. In winter, it is better to use a transformable or “3 in 1” model that is stable and protects from frost.
If the baby is just getting acquainted with the stroller, then he must get used to it, so first put him inside and let him get used to it, look around, and adapt to the new and as yet unknown environment. It is better to place a child at the age of six months lying down so that his back does not strain and get tired. If the baby is 8-9 months old, choose a reclining or sitting position, but preferably not for long. At one year of age, the child sits for a long time and begins to try to take the first steps or is already actively walking.
Important Rules
So, first of all, we take into account the age of the child. A stroller must be comfortable, that is, the mother must carefully monitor the baby’s sensations. If it slides, it means that the wrong position is most likely chosen. Try to make him more comfortable. If he is capricious or crying, then perhaps the wind and the sun are not in his eyes. Try flipping the handle, lowering or raising the visor. Chances are you'll soon find a comfortable position. Some tomboys try to stand up; safety belts should prevent this.
To level the surface, you need to use a mattress that matches the size of the seat. It can be complemented with a flat pillow, which will make the sitting even more comfortable. The first trip should be carried out in such a position that the child can constantly see his mother. When he gets used to traveling in a stroller, it will be better to turn him around in the opposite direction, for a free view of the world around him. Do not forget that walks should be daily and long.
Going for a walk with a newborn. In a stroller and in a car
With a reliable and safe car seat, your baby can safely ride in a car even over long distances. If you need to make a short “forced march” with your child to a clinic or a store, then child-carrying equipment will come in handy.
We ride in a stroller
The number one purchase for walking with your baby is, of course, a stroller. Its tasks are to provide the child with comfortable movement and healthy sleep in the fresh air, combined with convenience for the mother. Which stroller should you choose from the huge number of models offered?
The best option for newborns is a classic stroller
. Its main advantages are good maneuverability, a high seating position and a spacious basket-cradle with a flat hard bottom. The larger and deeper the cradle, the better: you can use the stroller longer, the child will be comfortable in it in the winter, despite the abundance of warm clothes, and not hot in the summer - as there is enough space for air circulation.
Cradles can have a number of very useful properties. For example, the removable inner upholstery of the cradle and mattress can be washed, so you can rest assured that the baby’s bed is hygienic. The climate control system guarantees an optimal internal microclimate in the “interior” of the stroller: when moving, the air flow freely flows inside (directly to the child) through special air intake vents located in the bottom of the cradle, and the air exhausted during breathing is discharged outside. Thanks to this, the baby, even lying in a completely closed cradle (the hood is raised, the apron-hood is installed, the raincoat is on), will not lack fresh air. The internal adjustable backrest of the cradle allows you to slightly raise the baby for feeding or for a better view while awake. At the rocking cradle
slightly convex base, thanks to which it can be used as a home cradle and gently rock the baby. Using built-in or removable handles, you can carry the basket with your child. For all its convenience, the “classic” has, perhaps, only one drawback - its large dimensions and weight, which create problems with going outside. Sometimes it’s hard for a mother to carry a “packed” stroller out for a walk and bring it back alone. In addition, due to the wide base, it may not fit in doorways or a small elevator car (it is better to measure these dimensions in advance, so that there are no unpleasant surprises with jamming later).
If, in addition to the cradle, the kit also includes a walking seat, then we are talking about a universal “2 in 1” stroller.
.
When the baby grows up, the cradle is removed from the chassis and replaced with a walking seat, which means that, theoretically, a child can ride in one stroller from birth to 2-3 years. However, practice shows that as soon as the little one begins to confidently stomp his feet, they buy him another, lighter and more compact stroller
- he can get in and out of it on his own without outside help. While the child will have to be removed from the walking block installed on a high classic chassis, but this is still difficult and not very convenient.
Strollers "3 in 1"
allow the installation of another module on the chassis - a child car seat of category 0+, which is often sold as a kit along with other components. This combination is intended for those babies who often travel in a car. Some brands offer another version of universal strollers. Chassis, carrycots, stroller seats and car carriers are sold separately, and many of their models are compatible with each other. Parents can “assemble” the stroller as they wish. For example, your favorite model of a cradle or walking hammock can be installed not only on a classic chassis, but also on a three-wheeled or lightweight one, and even on a cane chassis.
Transformer -
This is a “lying” and “sitting” stroller in one body. So that a newborn baby can lie in the transformer, the back of the stroller reclines to a horizontal position, and for babies who can sit, the backrest can be raised to a “sitting” or “reclining” position. In many ways, transformers are convenient and practical. Firstly, this is one of the most affordable and economical types of strollers, which covers all age categories - from birth to three years. Secondly, compared to the classics, the transformer is lighter and more compact. It is also worth noting the convenience of the reversible handle and the presence of built-in seat belts in the walking version. Removable insulation parts, a large hood and a cape on the legs make the transformer suitable for all-season use. However, there are also disadvantages, the most serious of which is the inability, due to the folding design of the “body,” to provide the baby with a perfectly flat bed. In this regard, models with a carrying envelope inserted inside and having a hard bottom are preferable. One more point: the transformer in the “cradle” position is cramped and not deep enough, which is especially felt in winter, when the baby walks in warm clothes and a blanket. Many parents are also not satisfied with the rather low seating position of the stroller (the mother has to lean too much towards the child) and the rigid suspension (therefore the stroller has worse cross-country ability, and it only sways from side to side).
Buying a stroller
When choosing a stroller (be it a classic, station wagon or transformable), you need to carefully evaluate its driving performance. Of course, a stroller on a lightweight chassis with small wheels and the ability to quickly fold impresses with its lightness and compactness. Perhaps for a baby born in spring or summer and mostly walking in the courtyard of the house, along city sidewalks and park alleys, a lightweight stroller with a cradle or a transformable body will be a suitable option. If the stroller has a wide base, large pneumatic wheels with reinforced tread, then it turns into a real all-terrain vehicle: stable and reliable, it will easily overcome snow drifts and off-season mud. In the summer, it’s a pleasure to walk through the forest with your baby or relax outside the city: a good stroller will not be afraid of forest paths, bumps and gravel paths. Soft shock absorbers are responsible for the smooth ride: the baby will not be bothered by shaking even on off-road terrain, and if he suddenly bursts into tears, it will be easier to calm him down if it is possible to pump the stroller back and forth, from side to side and even up and down.
The chassis of strollers for newborns can be not only traditionally four-wheeled. Three-wheeled strollers and strollers with dual front wheels have already become quite popular.
Having chosen a suitable model of a baby vehicle, you should inquire about its “everyday” capabilities. A height-adjustable handle, a spacious luggage basket, additional pockets on the upholstery, a bag for mom and a set of accessories (rain cover, mosquito net, warm envelope) make the stroller comfortable and all-season to use. If necessary, you need to immediately purchase these accessories.
In the store, the seller must demonstrate the stroller in action: show how it is assembled, folded, how the positions of the backrest, footrest, handle, etc. change. In this case, you need to pay attention to the fact that all transformation mechanisms work clearly, without extraneous sounds (creaking, crackling) and the use of excessive force. When purchasing, you need to inspect the stroller and “try it on” for yourself: is it convenient for mom to control it, is it easy to fold and unfold the stroller. It is necessary to check how the brake works, whether the stroller is moving to the side when riding, whether the wheels are loose, etc. You should try throwing the handle, rocking the stroller, fastening and unfastening the removable parts. Any complaints? Then feel free to pay for your purchase after checking the package contents and the availability of instructions.
Safe comfort in the car
For traveling with a baby, it is advisable to equip the car interior with some additions. It is worth hanging sun shades on the rear windows. A special mirror for monitoring a child sitting in the back seat will allow the driver to keep the baby in sight. You can hang an organizer with pockets on the back of the front seat. The little things you need on the road packed into it: toys, books, pencils, wet wipes, a bottle of drink, etc. will always be at hand. To ensure that your baby breathes fresh, dust-free air in the car and feels good even during a long journey, it is useful to use an ionic air purifier and/or humidifier in the car, powered by the car’s cigarette lighter. With a travel baby food warmer, your baby will always have warm food and drink. You can place a sticker on the rear window of your car to warn you that there is a child in the car.
We carry it in a car
With the introduction of new traffic rules, effective from January 1, 2007, for safe road trips with their baby, parents-motorists will have to take care of purchasing a special restraint device. For newborn babies, 3 options are offered: a car seat (group 0), a car carrier seat (group 0+) or a car seat of group 0+/1.
Car seat (group 0)
is intended for babies from birth to 6-9 months (weighing up to 10 kg) and is a special type of stroller basket with a one-piece body made of impact-resistant plastic and a set of holding straps (can be sold separately). Placed on a stroller chassis compatible with it, the infant carrier is used for walks as usual. In the car interior, the car seat is installed and secured in the back seat. Using adapter belts, it snaps onto the car's standard seat belts and is held securely by them. In the car seat itself, the baby is secured with an internal lap belt; a special soft liner is provided to protect his head. By the way, so that the baby does not get hurt in the event of a side collision, it is recommended to install the car seat with the head of the car facing away from the car door.
ATTENTION! Transporting a child in a car in a regular stroller cradle or in a carrier is DANGEROUS!
Car seat (group 0+)
is a portable car seat designed for children from birth to one and a half years (up to 13 kg). In the carrier, the baby is positioned in a physiological reclining position. For more comfortable placement of a newborn in car seats, a special ergonomic insert is provided. However, parents should not forget that children who do not yet know how to sit independently should spend more time lying on a flat, horizontal surface. Therefore, it is recommended to use car carriers for short trips, the travel time of which does not exceed an hour. Car seats of this weight group can be installed both in the rear and front seats of the car, but always only rear-facing. In the carrier, the baby is held in place by a built-in Y-shaped or five-point belt, and the car seat itself is secured in the car with standard seat belts or installed on a special stand, which is permanently fixed and can always be in the car. Thanks to this device, it will be enough to simply snap the seat onto the base without using belts each time. Depending on the model of the car seat, the base is sold complete with it or purchased separately; in the car it is secured with standard belts or the Isofix system.
The 0+ car seat is multifunctional and can be actively used outside the car. So, you can carry your baby in it. In this regard, when purchasing, you should pay attention to the weight of the carrier. At home, this car seat is used as a rocking chair. The carrier as part of the “travel system” can be installed on the stroller chassis or directly on a lightweight stroller, so that the baby can walk in the car seat. This means that you will need appropriate accessories for carrying. So, a folding canopy will hide the baby from the sun, a mosquito net will save you from annoying mosquitoes, a raincoat will protect you from rain, an apron will protect you from the wind, a warm envelope will keep you warm in cold weather, and an inner summer cover made of breathable fabric will prevent your baby from sweating in the heat. Of course, it is more convenient if most of the accessories come with the chair.
Car seats group 0+/1
The shape already resembles an adult car seat, only very small, intended for children from birth to 4 years old (weighing up to 18 kg).
For newborn babies, the seat is installed in the car with its back facing the direction of travel. They are provided with an ergonomic insert that reduces the internal space of the chair and makes it possible to change the angle of the backrest so that the baby can be in the most horizontal position. When the baby is about a year old, his seat in the car needs to be reoriented to face the direction of travel. The seats in this group are secured with car seat belts or the Isofix system and have internal retention belts.
Buying a car seat
Confirmation that the car seat has passed all the necessary tests and complies with the European Safety Standard is the presence of the following signs: ECE R44/03 (will be valid until 2009) or ECE R44/04 (the new standard will be in force since 2005).
The car seat should be comfortable for the child. Anatomical design, ventilated backrest, removable upholstery for washing, pleasant-to-touch materials will allow the baby to sit in the chair with pleasure. Deep seating and “hugging” design will ensure maximum safety and protection of the head, neck and shoulders in case of side impacts, and if the child falls asleep, his the head will not tilt to the side.
It is better to give preference to well-known brands and make purchases in stores where you can get comprehensive information on each model of car seats from the offered range.
The car seat must be accompanied by instructions in Russian and a detailed installation diagram. And for seats with Isofix mounting, there must also be a list of car brands compatible with it.
It is risky to buy used car seats from strangers. Due to internal invisible damage to the seat that has been in an accident, a child may remain unprotected in an emergency.
We carry it in our arms
There are situations when using a stroller is not very convenient. For example, if you need to quickly run to the store or pharmacy, go to the clinic, which is located several bus stops from home, then a good help for the mother will be means for carrying the child: a kangaroo backpack, a sling and a carrying cradle, which, by the way, can sold complete with stroller.
For a baby, it is better to purchase a kangaroo backpack, which allows you to lay it horizontally (the baby lies sideways to the mother) or at least reclining. Such models have a hard and at the same time softly padded high back, which in the lying position becomes a comfortable, flat bed for the baby. When the baby learns to sit, he can calmly begin to “ride” vertically in the backpack, turning his face to his mother. But since children at this age still sleep more outside than they are awake, the option of horizontal carrying will still remain relevant. Just by refastening the necessary fastenings on the backpack, the mother will transfer the sleeping baby to a lying position without even waking him up. Another convenient design solution for the smallest passengers who cannot remain in an upright position for a long time is the ability to feed and rest directly in the backpack. To do this, the mother needs to sit down and relax or unfasten the top straps of the child seat - the baby will be lying on her lap.
When choosing a “kangaroo”, you need to pay attention to the ease of assembly of the backpack, the reliability of its straps, and the ability to quickly fit a child into a backpack. Adjustable openings for arms and legs and a wide, softly padded groin area are preferred.
Ring slings, bag slings and scarf slings are more suitable for newborns than kangaroo slings, since the baby lies lying down in the sling.
The carrycot has a hard bottom, quilted walls, a removable hood and closes
lightning The cradle can be carried in your hands by the handles, and thanks to the long and wide belt (or two belts), it can be put on and carried over the shoulder - it’s easier and your hands remain free, unlike a kangaroo backpack, in which a child can be carried up to 12 -18 months, and a sling that will last at least two years; a carrying cradle is used for no more than 4-6 months, but for infants it is perhaps the best option.
Dress for the weather
When preparing a trousseau for walks, you shouldn’t forget about your little one’s outdoor wardrobe. It should be selected according to the season. For “summer” kids, a pair of light suits, a warm blouse, pants, a knitted hat and socks for cool weather will be enough; a thin padding polyester envelope will also come in handy. For “autumn-winter” children, you will need an insulated envelope and/or overalls - down, fur or modern synthetic insulation, as well as a winter hat, scarf, mittens, wool socks.
Solving the issue with the place
It’s very good if you have strollers for all occasions. For a small and growing child, for winter and summer, a lightweight cane and a comfortable transformer. But usually there is simply nowhere to put them, so you have to look for an alternative option that will be as universal as possible. Strollers for children are usually used between the ages of 6 months and one and a half or two years. Therefore, for a newborn, you can buy a more suitable stroller for transportation in a lying position. When the child grows up, just sell it and buy something more suitable. This allows you to solve all problems, and also does not cost money.
Of course, compared to strollers, the transformer looks more convenient and comfortable. But you also need to compare the weight. If the “cane” can be folded in one movement and easily raised to the 3rd - 4th floor (it weighs no more than 5 kg), then problems will arise with the “Baby Merc”. Lifting it up the steps alone is extremely problematic, because the stroller weighs about 40 kg, while it is wide and bulky.
The ideal city stroller
This can be called the Uppababy Cruz model. Optimal walking option. It has a narrow frame, which allows you to drive through any nooks and yards. Easily passes through the doors of the store and climbs into the elevator. The hood reliably protects from the sun's rays, the seat has a reclining backrest. Plus there is a large shopping basket. And all this folds up literally in one movement, and weighs little. That is, an excellent option for a modern and mobile mother who cannot sit still. With this stroller, the child will be comfortable, and the mother will feel at ease and comfortable.
At around 6 months you can begin to master this pattern. It will serve faithfully for several years until the child grows out of transport and switches to a bicycle.
Types of baby strollers
The types of strollers available and navigating what they offer can be confusing.
Let's look at the options:
Cane strollers and lightweight models
Suitable for babies over 3 months or those who can support their own heads. This is a great option for moms on the go. They can easily be stored in the trunk of your car and are suitable for travel.
Umbrella strollers get their name from the shape of the handle, which is curved at the end a bit like the handle of an umbrella. Don't be embarrassed and don't expect them to come with an umbrella.
They generally have lightweight aluminum frames and an adjustable seat. This means they can fold easily, usually in one step, and usually have swivel wheels that can be locked.
Although some can recline completely, this is the exception rather than the rule. So the age range for these types of strollers is from 4 to 6 months to preschool to 4 years old.
Strollers
Portable strollers fall in the mid-size range and are designed to fold compactly. As a result, they often have an easy folding mechanism. They usually have a storage basket included.
Luxury models can recline fully, have handles that extend, and have larger wheels.
Aluminum frame is common and weight is typically around 7kg.
If the model is fully reclining, then you can use it from birth.
Transformable strollers
These baby strollers come with a lot of extras. They are convertible and can be used in different sitting positions. They have multi-position padded seats that often recline fully and provide good support for your child's back and head.
They have a sun canopy, front tray, storage basket, good suspension and brakes.
Although there are some models with aluminum frames that are lighter, these strollers tend to be heavier.
If they recline completely, they can be used from birth until about 4 years of age.
Many parents of twins and triplets use these types of strollers because all the children can fit in one stroller. While this is easier than trying to push multiple strollers at once, keep in mind that they can be more cumbersome. With these types of strollers, the parent will always need to use an accessible ramp or lift. Additionally, the “outward facing” versions may have difficulty understanding the baby or toddler. It is important to ensure that all seat belts are securely fastened and that there are no choking hazards in the child's immediate area.
4.Transfer systems
They combine a stroller and a car seat. The infant car seat can be attached until your child outgrows it, and then it converts to a stroller. They are easy to fold for storage.
Some of the features you can find include a play tray, swivel wheels, foot pedal brakes, a reclining seat, and a storage basket.
It is not uncommon for a child car seat to have an ergonomic handle, car base, canopy, level indicator and head pad.
These systems will cover you from birth until about 4 years of age.
All-season baby strollers
These strollers are usually a three-wheel design with all-terrain wheels and good suspension. However, remember that your child will be jumping around in it a lot on rougher trails.
Other features are adjustable height handle, wrist strap, handbrake, storage bag and weather-resistant fabric.
Warning
These strollers are not suitable for small children. Although manufacturers' recommendations are generally from 6 months, check with your pediatrician about whether your baby is ready to hit the road with you. For some babies, 8 to 12 months is best.
