How long to cook veal meatballs for a child

What do you need to know to cook delicious meatballs?

Small balls formed from ground meat flaunt on the table. Whether they will be incredibly tasty after cooking depends on the housewife. To cook meatballs correctly, you need to consider what type of meat they are made from. Simple observations from culinary practice will help you with this:

  • chicken products are cooked for 25 minutes;
  • remembering how long to cook beef meatballs is also easy - 20 minutes;
  • Pork meatballs should be in boiling water for 22 minutes;
  • veal balls will be ready in a third of an hour;
  • The shortest time to cook turkey meatballs is only 10 minutes.

Also, when cooking, one should not forget about the size of the appetizing lumps. Meatballs that are too large will have to be cooked 10 minutes longer. You will have to increase the cooking time by 5-10 minutes if you are cooking for a child. How long to cook meatballs formed from pre-boiled meat is a separate question. They should never be overcooked, otherwise they will lose their taste and begin to disintegrate. It is enough to keep such balls in water after it boils for only 10 minutes.

Sometimes housewives do not have time to make meatball preparations themselves - they have to use a frozen semi-finished product made from mixed minced meat. In order not to make mistakes when cooking, again, you need to take a closer look at the size. Small lumps of meat will become soft in 40 minutes, larger ones require about an hour to complete this task.

How long should you cook minced meatballs if they have not been previously frozen? About 20 minutes. As a rule, no matter what minced meat these “traditional delicacies” are prepared from, they are most often boiled in broth or soup. But you can answer exactly how long to cook the meatballs in the soup only after reading the recipe. Perhaps the recipe for the dish requires extending or reducing the cooking time by a few minutes.

Recipe for chicken fillet meatballs for a 1 year old child

For the youngest gourmets, meatballs are best boiled or steamed. The composition of such a dish is significantly simplified - spices and any sauces are excluded from it. But this is a temporary measure, because very soon the little one will eat almost like an adult, but for now it’s better to prepare these safe meat rounds.

Ingredients

  • Chicken or turkey fillet – 500 g;
  • Cream 20% - 1-2 tbsp;
  • Onion – 1 piece;
  • Premium flour – 2-3 tbsp;
  • Salt – a pinch.

How to make chicken meatballs for small children

For crumbs, it is better to use only homemade minced meat, since this way you will know exactly what quality of meat your dish will be made from.

  1. We prepare chicken or turkey fillet as in the previous recipe, wash it and turn it into minced meat. It is best to do this with a blender - this way it will turn out to be as crushed as possible.
  2. We clean the onion and also grind it in a blender. Or you can grate it on a fine grater. Make sure that large pieces do not get into the food, otherwise such a “find” can greatly upset the eater during the tasting process.
  3. Mix chopped onion and minced meat. Pour in the cream and add a little salt. Such a small amount of salt will not harm the baby in any way, but the meatballs will turn out much tastier, even if for an adult they will not seem salty at all.
  4. Add flour, we need it to form rounds from the minced meat. If the shape is not particularly important to you, then you can reduce the amount of flour to 1 tbsp. and drop the meat balls into the water using a teaspoon.
  5. Place a medium-sized saucepan with cold purified water on the fire. For half a kilo of minced meat, 2-3 liters will be enough.
  6. Bring to a boil and begin loading the meatballs. If you have poured a lot of flour, wet your hands with cool water, take some minced meat and roll it into round pieces. If you added little flour or didn’t add it at all, scoop up a little minced meat with a damp teaspoon, bring it to the water and gently drop the minced meat into the pan with your finger. This way the meat will not overcook on the spoon, as happens if you put it in water.
  7. How long does it take to cook these meatballs? Depends on the amount of water and minced meat, but on average the cooking time does not exceed 25-30 minutes.
